Haven’t been writing for a while, but after what I just experienced this morning I thought it was a great time to write something new again!

This morning got me pretty freaked out as I experienced something that broke the box again. We can’t put God in a box. His ways are so mysterious, interesting and higher than our ways!

As I got up this morning to have breakfast. I sat down in the living room and had my breakfast. While eating I enjoyed being in the silence as I became aware of His presence within me. And I simply enjoyed the fellowship of the Holy Spirit while eating. As I enjoyed His fellowship I became aware of my desire to spend more time in silence, prayer and also that its time to start praying for some friends and other people. I had the impression God was actually telling me that I should make some time for that. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy the fellowship of His sweet, warm, honey,  holy presence in the morning, but as I enjoyed His presence I saw this strange insect in my living room and it freaked me out.

I really don’t like insects in the house!

As I have experienced and seen before how people use insects in the occult I thought it was witchcraft when I saw that strange looking insect in the living room.  So I immediately killed it and said I break this in the name of Jesus Christ!

But after I killed it, I thought it was a good idea to look on the internet for some info about the meaning of this insect or how they use it in the occult. I found out that the insect that I saw was called a “praying mantis”. In many cultures the praying mantis has been a symbol of meditation, contemplation and yes, even prayer!

It seemed to me that the meanings of this insect all seem to match with what I felt God had put on my heart. I even found out that “mantis” is the greek word for “prophet” or “seer”!!! I mean, how loud and clear did Gods creation prophesy to me what God had put on my heart! I mean, “praying prophet or seer”… come on!!

When I actually found an article on the Elijah list about intercession and the “praying mantis”  I was fully convinced that this was God. The article is about a woman who shares about how God started speaking to her about prayer and intercession through this “praying mantis”.

I think its really weird when you think about it. It could be demonic, God or just an insect. Yet, the boundaries between what is of God and what is demonic seemed to be so narrow. I thinks its another example that we can’t judge things by their appearance, what we see in the natural! We judge things by the source and looking at the fruit. I had to repent to God for demonizing His creation and even rejecting anything that manifested differently than I was used to the way God would manifest Himself and speak to me.

When Moses and Aaron confronted the Pharao and had their staff turn into a snake there where sorcerers and and Egyptian magicians who did the same. (Exodus 7:10) Now, did Moses move in the occult?? It probably looked exactly the same as it did with the other guys, but the source was different.
I think there is nothing wrong with moving in these things as long as God is the source and not some demonic occultic spirit. Also when we think of a snake we think it’s demonic, but did you know that the snake in the bible was also used as a symbol for Jesus Christ. It’s the picture of a bronze snake that was lifted up by moses that was actually pointing to Jesus being lifted up. (John3:14)

Anyway, we need to get to know our maker to recognize when He is speaking. And with knowing, I don’t really mean just knowing the Bible, the letter, but to know Him as a person. Enjoying the fellowship of the Holy Spirit who has come to live inside of us. Christ in us, the hope of Glory!

Anyway, another great lesson of embracing the unkown and seeing a God that doesn’t fit in a box! How marvelous and mysterious are His ways!
Why don’t we allow ourselves to embrace the fact that the God in our box is incomplete?? He is way bigger!

Oh and after this ofcourse I took some time in prayer and had such an amazing time with Him!

Be blessed guys!
